Heritage Farm

60 minutes / $50 per guest / Ages 3+

Step back in time to a delightfully detailed re-creation of a 1930s era farmstead, known as the Rio Grande Heritage Farm.

Highlights:

  • Tour the large kitchen garden and learn about the various heirloom vegetables selected to be grown and traditional methods of water conservation.
  • Stroll through the vineyard discussing the different varieties of mission grapes and how they arrived in New Mexico
  • Explore the apple orchard, where several different varieties of apples are grown. In addition, the tour will provide an in depth look at the cider press in the original wooden barn, where apples from the fall harvest are turned into cider.
  • Meet and learn more about the Heritage Farm living collection that includes the Navajo Churro Sheep, American Paint Horse, Merriam turkeys, and a variety of chickens.
